Dr Susanne Hooper

I am an accredited Menopause Specialist registered with the British Menopause Society (BMS) and apart from working with The Oxford Hormone Clinic, I also work as a Fertility Specialist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital Trust in Henley and Newbury.

I was born and qualified in Medicine in 1997 in Switzerland and spent my first few years of medical training all over Europe and in the USA. I eventually settled in the UK, spending my first 15 years in London, training in Anaesthetics, Research and bringing up a family.

Having moved to Oxford 10 years ago and working mainly in Reproductive Medicine, I became more and more aware of women suffering from unaddressed hormonal imbalances and the huge impact this had on so many women who had nowhere to go. Born to a Dutch Mother and a Swiss Father, I am fluent in 5 different languages have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, and gained valuable insight into many different medical healthcare systems. Having seen the lack of care for women-specific health problems in the UK, compared to Europe, we decided to set up a specialised hormone clinic to give women evidence-based, individualised and high-quality care, helping them to navigate this difficult time of hormonal imbalance.

BMS-certified Menopause Specialist, IMS (International Menopause Society) Certificate in Menopause, Member of the British Fertility Society (BFS), the British Menopause Society (BMS) and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FSRH), RCOG Associate,
